Meditation For Beginners - How to begin Meditating Quickly
1. Don't get stuck on "getting it right"
Almost every meditation session differs and there's no one single "correct" way to meditate. So don't begin to panic if you're not sure whether you're getting everything right first time. Actually, it's far better to allow the mind go and just relax. This will help your meditation session to visit smoothly. In case your conscious mind nags you and also questions you, simply tell it to go away for a few minutes when you relax.
2. Consider using a few different methods
Lots of people find breathing meditation among the easiest ways to begin. You already breathe and the main idea of a breathing meditation (especially in the beginning stages) is to simply notice your breathing and control it without forcing breaths. Other people find that a walking meditation is a great way to start. Obviously for this type of meditating, your eyes will be open! In fact, you might already have been practicing walking meditation not understanding it - at it's simplest, it's literally a stroll in the park, albeit noticing and being aware of things who are around you. Guided meditations are a third way that many beginners to meditation take. Whatever you do is sit back and follow someone else's voice - either in person or via a pre-recorded meditation MP3. You will be taken with the relaxation procedure and guided through all the stages of meditating.
3. Put aside a regular meditation time
Meditation is like every other habit, it takes time to make it a habit! When you're getting started with meditation, put aside a normal time ti meditate. It does not have to be long - 10 or 15 minutes is fine. But making meditation a regular part of your routine can help enormously. If you are organized, book a time inside your diary to have time with yourself. Or skip watching the television news and meditate instead - this can have the added benefit of reducing the negativity you're subjected to in your life.
The main thing about meditation for novices would be to begin! You can adapt, change meditation styles and so on at a later date. But you are only able to do so if you are actually started meditating to begin with.
